2009Officials in India say at least 45 people have been killed in a
landslide that swamped three villages after heavy rains in the country's
north. About 20 bodies have been pulled from the debris, with police and
volunteers digging through mud and rocks Sunday to recover the others.
The deadly landslide struck Saturday in Pithoragarh district in
Uttarakhand state, 500 kilometers from New Delhi.
