Authorities say at least four explosions took place within minutes of each other Saturday, in busy marketplaces throughout the city. At least 50 people were wounded. The blasts occurred in three different areas where weekend shoppers crowded the streets. Police also defused at least two other bombs. Delhi's mayor, Arti Mehra, has appealed for calm and asked residents to remain in their homes. An Islamic militant group, Indian Mujahedeen, has claimed responsibility for Saturday's attacks. The group has previously said it was behind a series of explosions in the western state of Gujarat in July that killed at least 45 people.
