Senator Barack Obama is in Montana while rival, Senator Hillary Clinton holds events in Kentucky 







Barack Obama gestures during campaign stop in state of Oregon, 18 May 2008Democratic U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama is campaigning Monday in Montana, while his party rival, Hillary Clinton, holds events in Kentucky.

The campaigning comes on the eve of primaries in Kentucky and Oregon.

Clinton leads Obama in Kentucky opinion polls and has received the endorsement of four former state governors.

Obama campaigned Sunday in Oregon, where he is favored to win. An estimated 75,000 people attended a rally in Portland, where Obama criticized the Bush administration for its economic and energy policies and the war in Iraq. 

On the Republican side, presumptive nominee Senator John McCain is scheduled to address the National Restaurant Association in Chicago, Illinois, today and then hold events in the southern U.S. state of Georgia.

McCain's national finance co-chairman, Thomas Loeffler, resigned Sunday because of ties to lobbyists. Loeffler stepped down in the wake of a new McCain policy that required campaign volunteers to disclose their lobbying connections.
