Police returned fire, killing the gunmen. Authorities are searching for a fourth assailant who drove away from the scene. A U.S. Embassy spokeswoman said no consulate staff were reported to be hurt.Witnesses say one police officer died at the scene, while the two other officers died in a nearby hospital.
