A military statement says several insurgents also were killed in the operation in Helmand province Saturday. The coalition says its forces were looking for a Taliban leader when they came under fire. Officials say the two civilians, a woman and a child, were in one of the rooms the militants used to fire at coalition forces. Elsewhere, a roadside bomb hit a convoy carrying the governor of Kandahar Sunday.  He was not hurt but the blast killed three policemen and wounded two others. Officials say the governor was returning from a meeting with elders on poppy eradication efforts.
