Baseball: Boston a Win Away From World Series Sweep

Rockies 10-5 Saturday in Colorado The Boston Red Sox are on the verge
of sweeping Colorado in Major League Baseball's World Series, after
thumping the Rockies, 10-5 Saturday.

Boston rookie center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury had four hits, including
three doubles to lead the 15-hit attack. Ellsbury drove in two runs
and scored two others to lead the Red Sox to their third win against
no losses in the best-of-seven championship series.

Daisuke Matsuzaka - the first Japanese pitcher to start in the World
Series - earned the victory, pitching into the sixth inning. He also
drove in two of the six runs Boston scored in the third inning to take
a 6-0 lead.

Host Colorado pulled to within a run in the seventh on a three-run
home run by Matt Holliday, but Boston came right back with three runs
in the eighth inning.

Boston could complete a Sunday night in Denver.

All 22 prior teams with a three-games-to-none lead in the World Series
went on to win the championship - 19 by completing a sweep.

The Red Sox swept the St. Louis Cardinals exactly three years ago
Saturday to win their first World Series title in 86 years.
