Iraqi boy takes cover behind US soldier after gunshots ring out in
busy central Baghdad commercial district, 28 May 2007Iraqi police say
a car bomb explosion in central Baghdad has killed at least 21 people
and wounded 66 others.

The blast Monday, was in the Sinak commercial and business district on
the east bank of the Tigris river. The explosion also damaged a mosque
and at least eight cars.

In Iraq Sunday, U.S. military troops rescued 41 Iraqis from an
al-Qaida prison camp north of Baghdad.

Military officials say some of the freed captives showed signs of
torture and mistreatment.
