Police say the gunmen stopped buses carrying the Yazidis home from work outside Mosul.  They say the 23 were dragged to the side of the road and shot. Earlier Sunday, two suicide car bombers in Baghdad killed at least 12 people near a police station. At least 75 other people were wounded in the blasts in the mostly Shi'ite al-Bayaa neighborhood.  The victims included police and civilians. In Basra in southern Iraq, British soldiers killed a man during a raid on his house. And the U.S. military said Sunday that an American soldier was killed in an attack on a base southwest of Baghdad Saturday. Additional Optional Material General David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, told "The Washington Post" newspaper the increase in American and Iraqi troops since February has improved security in Baghdad and Anbar province.   But he said attacks have risen sharply in other regions. During a meeting with Australian Defense Minister Brendan Nelson in Baghdad Saturday, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said the security plan is moving in the right direction, despite the challenges facing it.
