Nicholas Maduro said security personnel took him to a room Saturday at John F. Kennedy International Airport and held him there for more than an hour. Maduro told CNN television he was then handed over to a delegation led by Venezuela's U.N. ambassador. Maduro called for an investigation of the incident. On Venezuelan television, President Hugo Chavez said Maduro was detained for allegedly taking part in a failed 1992 coup attempt in Venezuela. On Wednesday, Mr. Chavez, in a speech to the United Nations, called President Bush "the devil."
