The attack was one of a series of deadly bomb blasts in the city Sunday. Iraqi officials say a gunman in the truck fired at civilians before the vehicle exploded outside a police center.  Many of the casualties were inside the center. The attack was also near offices of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the political party of Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. Authorities say at least five other bombs exploded in Kirkuk, including two that targeted police patrols.  At least six more people were killed, including civilians. To the south in Baghdad, police recovered 24 more bodies Sunday of Iraqis tortured and killed by sectarian death squads.  Almost 200 bodies have been found around the capital since Wednesday. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki appealed again Saturday for Iraqis to set aside their sectarian, ethnic and political differences and embrace the national reconciliation plan he unveiled in June.
