Iran Reported to Have Started Second Nuclear Fuel Network --------------------------------------------------------- http://enews.voanews.com/t?r=279&c=666511&l=1009&ctl=1495C6C:A6F02AD83191E16016DCAC6639A962CF9574F7DCC14957C0 Report says gas fed into second system of cascades this week and results of process already obtained Uranium conversion facility near Isfahan, Iran (file photo)News reports from Iran say nuclear engineers have begun operating a second network of centrifuges at a uranium enrichment facility, despite threats of U.N. sanctions over its nuclear program. Iran's student news agency ISNA Friday, quoted sources as saying gas had been fed into a second system of cascades this week and that the results of the process had already been obtained. The report also said uranium had not yet been put into the system, but could be in the next few days. On Wednesday, Tehran confirmed it had installed new equipment to step up uranium enrichment work. Enrichment of uranium is carried out in lines of centrifuges called cascades and is used to make the fuel for civilian nuclear reactors. But in highly refined form enriched uranium can serve as the raw material for atomic weapons. Western nations, led by the United States, have accused Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons. Tehran says its nuclear program aims to produce electricity. Some information for this report was provided by AFP, AP and Reuters.   .
