Israeli police in riot gear stormed into a Palestinian home in Hebron, and evacuated dozens of Jewish settlers by force. The settlers responded with a hail of stones, bottles and firebombs. Three Jewish families moved into the three-story building a month ago, claiming they rented it from its Palestinian owner. He denied it. Israel's Supreme Court ruled that the rental documents were forged, and it ordered the evacuation. It was an early test for Israel's new prime minister, Ehud Olmert, who was sworn in last week. Mr. Olmert plans to withdraw from large parts of the West Bank over the next four years and remove some 60,000 settlers from their homes. .
