The authorities say a small truck containing explosives blew up near a coalition reconstruction team convoy, but there were no casualties among the coalition team. The blast follows a series of clashes in southern Afghanistan, in which two British and two Afghan soldiers, and at least 13 Taleban insurgents were killed. Britain's Ministry of Defense said the British soldiers were killed Tuesday in the Sangin valley of Helmand province. Earlier, insurgents killed two Afghan soldiers in another part of Helmand province. And local officials say at least 13 Taleban have been killed in recent fighting. Coalition forces are conducting their largest anti-Taleban offensive in Afghanistan since the extremist Islamist group was ousted from power in 2001.
