At an international security conference Saturday in Munich, Germany, Rumsfeld called Iran's government the "leading state sponsor of terrorism," and said the world must work together to prevent a nuclear Iran. Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel told conference delegates Iran had gone too far with its nuclear program, and must be prevented from developing nuclear weapons. She also urged diplomacy over military action to deal with an Iranian nuclear threat. The United States and the European Union have said Iran is secretly trying to develop nuclear weapons. Tehran insists its aim is to create energy for civilians. Some information for this report was provided by AFP, AP and Reuters. .
