Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer

For the past several days one lone pilot in one very advanced airplane
has been testing his own physical limits in an attempt to break a
world record and fly further than any other aircraft in history.

The pilot is Steve Fossett, and his aircraft is the Virgin Atlantic
Global Flyer. This is Fossett's second attempt to fly solo around the
world.

 







Richard Branson The project is funded by Virgin Atlantic Airlines
founder and British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson.

At the half-way mark in Fossett's journey, VOA's Doug Bernard spoke
with Mr. Branson for an update on the trip.
