The attack took place during a busy shopping time in the morning. Shortly afterwards, a car bomb exploded near the al-Sha'ab sports stadium in an eastern part of the city that killed at least 10 people and wounded more than 25 others. Meanwhile, the U.S. military says three American soldiers were killed and three others wounded in separate roadside bomb blasts in the Iraqi capital on Wednesday. The military also says Iraqi special forces backed by American advisors captured an al-Qaida insurgent believed to have been involved in the kidnapping and murder of two U.S. soldiers in June.
