Iraqis view the wreckage of the car used as car bomb, in Baghdad,
Iraq, Thursday, Aug.17, 2006Iraqi authorities say insurgent attacks
across the country killed at least 11 people Thursday.

A car bomb at a market in Baghdad's Sadr City neighborhood killed at
least four people and wounded more than 20 others.  Another blast in
the capital wounded several more people.

To the north, shooting attacks in and around Baquba killed at least
six people.  And an Iraqi soldier guarding oil fields was shot dead in
Balad.

Iraqi officials say nearly 3500 Iraqis died last month in violence
nationwide, the highest toll for civilians since the U.S.-led invasion
