Witnesses say armed men attacked voters in some locations where support for the opposition Muslim Brotherhood group is strong. Judicial authorities say police prevented voters from entering some polling stations. Thousands of riot police were deployed to prevent a recurrence of violence that marred earlier rounds of voting. Tensions increased after the Brotherhood won more parliament seats than the ruling National Democratic Party in voting last Sunday. The Islamist group has won 47 of the 444 elected seats in parliament so far, compared to about 120 for the ruling party. Leaders of the Brotherhood say police have arrested hundreds of its members in the past two days. The Muslim Brotherhood is banned as a political party, but endorses candidates whose allegiance to the party is known to voters. Some information for this report provided by AFP, AP and Reuters. .
