Japan Bans Canadian Poultry Because of Bird Flu

The sick duck came from a commercial farm near Vancouver.

Canadian authorities said Monday the duck did not have the same bird
flu strain that has killed more than 60 people in Asia since 2003. But
they are killing almost 60-thousand ducks on the farm as a precaution.

Also Monday, Romanian officials said British lab tests confirmed four
dead chickens in a remote Danube River village had bird flu.

China's agriculture ministry also said Monday that bird flu has been
found in chickens, ducks, and geese last week in Inner Mongolia and
Hubei province.
