SaturdayPolice in Iraq say a car bomb has exploded at a market in
southeastern Baghdad, killing at least 11 people.

Authorities say the blast Saturday, in the Diyala Bridge section of
the city also wounded at least 15 people.

The attack came as Iraqi leaders representing Shi'ite and Sunni Arab
Muslims and non-Arab Kurds were scheduled to hold reconciliation talks
in Cairo, sponsored by the Arab League. In opening remarks Saturday,
Arab League chief Amr Moussa warned against allowing Iraq to slip into
sedition or civil infighting.



Insurgents in Iraq carried out a series of deadly attacks Friday,
killing at least 77 people and wounding scores of others at two
crowded Shi'ite mosques in the eastern town of Khanaqin.

Six people were also killed and 40 others wounded in Baghdad when two
suicide truck bombs exploded minutes apart.
