have arrested the suspected coordinator of last month's deadly triple
bombings in New Delhi.

Police commissioner K.K. Paul told reporters Sunday that alleged
Kashmiri militant Tariq Ahmad Dar is believed to be the chief
conspirator and financier of the attacks.

The suspect was arrested in Indian Kashmir's main city, Srinagar, on
Thursday and taken to New Delhi. He is alleged to be a key member of
the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group.

The commissioner says it is clear from the investigations and the
interrogation of Mr. Dar that Laskhar was behind the near-simultaneous
bomb blasts in three crowded markets on October 29.

The bombings killed at least 60 people and wounded more than 200 when
thousands of people were doing last-minute shopping ahead of the major
Hindu festival of Diwali.
