The demonstrations in Afghanistan began Tuesday after a U.S. magazine reported that interrogators at the American detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba had allegedly desecrated the Koran to rattle detainees. Pakistan's foreign minister Khursheed Kasuri called for the punishment of those responsible if the allegations are proven true. Senior U.S. officials investigating the allegations say they have found no evidence to confirm that the incident took place.
