Afghan university students march in KabulAfghan officials say at least
three more people have been killed in new anti-U.S. protests in the
country, raising the total number killed in Afghanistan in the past
several days to at least 10.

Other largely peaceful protests have been reported Friday also in
Pakistan, Indonesia and the Palestinian territories.

The demonstrations in Afghanistan began Tuesday after a U.S. magazine
reported that interrogators at the American detention facility in
Guantanamo Bay, Cuba had allegedly desecrated the Koran to rattle
detainees.

Pakistan's foreign minister Khursheed Kasuri called for the punishment
of those responsible if the allegations are proven true.

Senior U.S. officials investigating the allegations say they have
found no evidence to confirm that the incident took place. The U.S.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has vowed to take action if the
allegations are found to be true.
