Military prosecutors had released the photographs Tuesday at a court-martial for three British soldiers accused of mistreating Iraqis in their custody almost two years ago. The pictures, published Wednesday by several newspapers and news organizations, show Iraqi prisoners bound, naked and apparently subjected to sexual humiliation. Tuesday, British soldier Lance Corporal Darren Larkin pleaded guilty to one count of assault after he admitted beating an Iraqi captive in southern Iraq in May 2003. He and two companions, Corporal Daniel Kenyon and Lance Corporal Mark Cooley, pleaded not guilty to other charges during the hearing at a British base in Germany.
