Rockets Land Near US Vessel at Jordan Port, Israeli Port City ------------------------------------------------------------- (http://enews.voanews.com/t?ctl=EA8A83:3919ACA No casualties reported in either attack, targeting American vessels docked at Jordan's Aqaba port in the Red Sea and southern Israeli port city of Eilat The U.S. military says a rocket has been fired at American vessels docked at Jordan's Aqaba port in the Red Sea. Israel says a rocket also landed in its nearby southern port city of Eilat. No casualties have been reported in either attack, Friday. The U.S. Navy said a rocket was fired at two American ships docked in Aqaba, but missed and landed on the roof of a warehouse. Military officials say the two naval vessels, which were training with Jordan's navy, headed out to sea immediately after the attack. Israeli police and witnesses say a Katyusha rocket fired from Jordan fell on the outskirts of the nearby airport of Israel's Red Sea resort of Eilat, but did not explode. It was not immediately clear who was behind the attacks at a border region of the Sanai Peninsula, but Islamic extremists have long criticized Jordan's moderate government for its peace treaty with Israel and close ties with the West. Officials in Israel and Jordan say they are cooperating in an investigation. .
