Schmitz AgileBits has released [1]1Password 4.2 with improvements to 1Password mini, AutoSave, and item editing. The updated 1Password mini now enables you to edit items (including generated passwords) directly within the companion menu bar app, displays secure notes, supports fuzzy search (enabling you to type 'zon' and get 'Amazon' returned), improves support for multiple Chrome profiles, and greatly improves URL matching when attempting to fill in a password for a Web site's sub domain (which can be configured in Preferences > Browser). The AutoSave window will now prompt to save new Logins in your primary vault by default, and it will also search all vaults before asking to save/update new Logins. Additionally, you can specify a vault to use when saving a new Login. The update also adds support for Undo/Redo when editing an item, plus it enables you to resume editing if 1Password locks or quits in the middle of a change as well as rename tags directly within the sidebar. Other changes include the addition of a Find Backup button to aid in restoring external backup files, the capability to restore from a backup when launching 1Password for the first time, improved CSV import, and the addition of Catalan and Danish localizations. Shortly after releasing version 4.2, AgileBits issued 1Password 4.2.1 with a fix for a crash when setting up syncing on OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, plus improved notifications that avoid message truncation and remind you that 1Password needs to be unlocked to change sync preferences. As of this writing, the [2]Mac App Store edition of 1Password remained stuck on version 4.1.2, the latest update should appear soon after Apple approves it.
