Pope Leo Calls for Ceasefire in Ukraine and Gaza in First Sunday Address
------------------------------------------------------------------------

In his first Sunday address, Pope Leo XIV called for a ceasefire in
Ukraine and Gaza as part of a broader antiwar message. The pope spoke
from the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica.

Pope Leo XIV: "I am deeply saddened by what is happening in the Gaza
Strip. Let the fire cease immediately. Let humanitarian aid be provided
to the exhausted civilian population. And may all hostages be freed."
