Trump Asks Supreme Court to Rule on Alien Enemies Act of 1798

In immigration news, the Trump administration has asked the U.S. Supreme
Court to overturn a lower judge's ruling that has blocked Trump from
removing more immigrants from the United States after he invoked the
Alien Enemies Act of 1798. The Justice Department filed an emergency
appeal on Friday claiming that U.S. District Judge James Boasberg had
unconstitutionally intruded on the president's national security powers
by ordering the Trump administration to stop sending Venezuelan
immigrants, accused without evidence of being gang members, to a
supermax prison complex in El Salvador.
