Federal Judge Dismisses Trump Administration Lawsuit Against Chicago over Sanctuary Policies

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit by the Trump administration
against the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois over its sanctuary
policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration agencies. U.S.
District Judge Lindsay Jenkins said the sanctuary policies are protected
by the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker
praised the ruling, saying it will ensure state law enforcement is "not
carrying out the Trump administration's unlawful policies or troubling
tactics."
