New Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Rule Wipes Medical Debt from Credit Reports

The Biden administration has approved new rules that would wipe out an
estimated $49 billion in unpaid medical bills from the credit reports of
roughly 15 million people. The rules were finalized Tuesday by the
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau - an agency that billionaire Trump
megadonor Elon Musk has said he hopes to "delete" after Trump installs
him as co-leader of the new "Department of Government Efficiency," or
DOGE.
