On Sunday, Colombian President Gustavo Petro turned back two U.S. military planes carrying deported people, saying immigrants should be treated with dignity. President Trump then imposed new tariffs and sanctions on Colombia. Petro responded with retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports, but within hours the White House announced a deal had been reached. .
