Impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol Charged with Insurrection

South Korean prosecutors have charged impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol
with insurrection after his failed attempt to impose martial law in
December, which plunged the country into political turmoil. The
insurrection charge could lead to a sentence of life imprisonment for
Yoon, or even the death penalty, though South Korea has not carried out
an execution in decades.
