Russia Battles Massive Oil Spill Near Crimea

Russia says about 10,000 volunteers have joined efforts to contain a
massive oil spill from two tankers in the Kerch Strait, near the
Ukrainian territory of Crimea, which Russia invaded and annexed in 2014.
Since mid-December, the storm-stricken tankers have spilled 200,000 tons
of heavy fuel oil, fouling dozens of miles of shoreline. So far Russia
says it has removed more than 70,000 tons of contaminated sand and soil.
