Flooding Displaces More Than 1 Million in Pakistan

More than a million people have been displaced in Pakistan after the
worst flooding in more than four decades. Monsoon rain and the release
of water from overflowing dams in India caused three major rivers to
burst their banks, destroying crops and businesses in the region and
flooding more than 1,400 villages in Punjab province. Since June, the
floods have killed more than 800 people in Pakistan.
