South Sudan Schools Close Due to Extreme Heat

Schools in South Sudan have temporarily shuttered in preparation for a
scorching heat wave that's expected to last for the next two weeks.
Officials have advised children to stay indoors, as temperatures are
likely to reach 113 degrees Fahrenheit. Extreme heat waves have become
more common in South Sudan due to the worsening climate crisis and have
compounded an already dire humanitarian crisis due to conflict in the
