Biden Returns to D.C., Addresses Decision to Drop Reelection Bid and Back Harris for President

President Biden addressed his decision to drop out of the presidential
race Wednesday in a televised address from the Oval Office.

President Joe Biden: "Nothing - nothing - can come in the way of saving
our democracy. That includes personal ambition. So I've decided the best
way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation."

Biden threw his support behind Kamala Harris, calling her "experienced,
tough and capable." This comes as the DNC set August 1 as the date for a
virtual roll call to officially nominate the Democratic presidential
nominee.
