U.S. Reinstates Venezuela Sanctions Ahead of July Elections

The Biden administration has reimposed oil sanctions on Venezuela,
saying President Nicolás Maduro has not enforced promised reforms ahead
of July's elections. Some U.S. sanctions on Venezuela's oil industry
were lifted last year under the condition Maduro allowed opposition
candidates to participate in the elections, but several have been banned
from running.
