U.S. Breaks Record for Billion-Dollar Climate Disasters

Here in the United States, the number of major climate-related disasters
so far in 2023 has already set records. The National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration said Monday 23 separate weather and climate
disasters have caused at least $1 billion in damage from January to
August, surpassing the previous record set in all of 2020.
