Without Filibuster Reform, Democratic Efforts to Codify Abortion Rights Will Fail

On Capitol Hill, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the Senate
will soon vote to codify abortion rights into law, but the effort is
expected to fail even though Democrats control both houses and the
presidency. This is in part because Democratic Senator Joe Manchin of
West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona continue to oppose changing
the filibuster rules.
