Global Climate Strikers Call for End to Fossil Fuel Dependence Amid Russia's Attack on Ukraine

Young activists from around the world took to the streets Friday in
dozens of countries and more than 500 cities for the Global Climate
Strike. Launched by Greta Thunberg's Fridays for Future movement, the
annual event had taken place virtually for the past two years due to the
pandemic. This is German activist Luisa Neubauer speaking from Berlin.

Luisa Neubauer: "We see now that we are in a war that is being financed
by fossil fuels, that we need to be speaking about fossil fuel. And
today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, Germany is giving Putin
millions of euros for his coal, oil and gas. There is no such thing as
an isolated crisis. If we want to separate ourselves from the autocrats
and live everywhere in peace and freedom and safety, then we need to
move away from fossil fuel."
