EU Prepares for Rationing as Russia Further Restricts Gas Exports

Russia's state-controlled energy giant has reduced the flow of gas
through its main pipeline to Europe. Gazprom said Monday it would slash
gas deliveries through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to just 20% of normal
operating capacity. That prompted the European Union to agree to a deal
that grants Brussels the power to compel EU members to slash gas
consumption by up to 15%. On Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr
Zelensky accused Russia of committing "gas blackmail" against Europe.
