U.S. Kills Two in Airstrikes in Somalia

The U.S. launched airstrikes in southern Somalia on Saturday. The U.S.
military claims the strikes killed two members of the militant group
al-Shabab. The U.S. justified the attack saying it was done "in defense
of designated partner forces." In May, President Biden approved a
Pentagon plan to redeploy up to 500 U.S. troops to Somalia. The move
reversed a withdrawal ordered by then-President Trump during his final
days in office.
