A study by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change found such monsoon rain events are becoming more intense as a result of the climate crisis. Meanwhile, Iran has just recorded its hottest-ever temperature in the month of August. On Friday, the southwestern city of Ahvaz hit 53 degrees Celsius - or nearly 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
