Thousands Rally to Oppose Corruption Charges Against Argentina's Vice President

In Argentina, thousands of people took to the streets of Buenos Aires
Saturday to defend Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner against
allegations of corruption. Kirchner is accused of defrauding the state
in a scheme to divert public funds during her term as president from
2007 to 2015. The weekend protest came just days after prosecutors
called for a 12-year prison sentence and a ban on public office for
Kirchner. Police fired tear gas at protesters, and at least four people
were arrested.
