August 25, 2022 Oklahoma Prepares to Kill Prisoner James Coddington After Gov. Stitt Denies Clemency ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In Oklahoma, Republican Governor Kevin Stitt has ordered condemned prisoner James Coddington to be put to death by means of lethal injection today - despite a vote by Oklahoma's Pardon and Parole Board to grant him clemency instead.
