April 4, 2022 Authoritarian PM Viktor Orbán Wins Fourth Term as Hungary's Leader ------------------------------------------------------------------ Hungary's right-wing nationalist leader Viktor Orbán has been reelected to a fourth consecutive term as prime minister as his party increased its parliamentary majority. While Hungary is a member of NATO, Orbán has maintained close relations to Russia. In recent weeks Orbán has refused to join other NATO nations in sending arms to Ukraine. Orbán's chief rival, Peter Marki-Zay, campaigned saying Hungary's future lies in the European Union and in NATO. On Sunday, he criticized the fairness of the election.
