White House Restores Environmental Reviews for Major Infrastructure Projects

The White House has finalized a rule change to the National
Environmental Policy Act that restores several key provisions to the
landmark 1970 law. The Trump administration gutted environmental and
community safeguards under the act in 2020, when it moved to speed up
the approval process for major infrastructure projects, while exempting
some projects from environmental review entirely.
