NY Lt. Gov. Benjamin Resigns After Arrest on Federal Corruption Charges

New York Lieutenant Governor Brian Benjamin resigned Tuesday after being
arrested on federal corruption charges. He is accused of directing
$50,000 in state funds to a real estate investor in exchange for
campaign donations. New York Governor Kathy Hochul appointed Benjamin as
lieutenant governor in September, after she became governor following
the resignation of Andrew Cuomo.
