U.N. Says Fivefold Increase in Extreme Weather Events Caused Over 2 Million Deaths Since 1970

The World Meteorological Organization reported Wednesday that the
climate crisis has spawned extreme weather that's killed more than 2
million people over the last 50 years, with over $3.6 trillion in
economic damage. Researchers found a fivefold increase in the number of
extreme weather events compared to 1970.
