China Won't Commit to New Emissions Targets Ahead of COP26 Climate Summit

China has submitted its climate action goals ahead of the COP26 United
Nations climate summit, which opens in Glasgow next week. China says it
plans to see its carbon dioxide emissions peak by 2030, achieving carbon
neutrality by 2060. The pledge contains no significant new environmental
goals. Climate activists say it's far short of what's needed from China
to help prevent the worst effects of the climate crisis.
