Sudanese Soldiers Arrest Scores of Anti-Coup Protesters

In Sudan, soldiers fired tear gas and arrested scores of people over the
weekend as protesters opposed to the October 25 coup began a two-day
strike and campaign of civil disobedience demanding a peaceful
transition to civilian rule. The protests came as mediators from the
Arab League traveled to Khartoum Saturday for talks with the military
coup leaders.
